How to find us

You'll find the ZQE on the TUM research campus in Garching, in the dark-façade building at Am Coulombwall 3a. Your landmark is hard to miss: a 24-metre ring of 48 granite megaliths on the meadow in front of the building - “Formation of a quantum henge” by artist Judith Neunhäuserer, affectionately known as our "Stonehenge Garching." Its arrangement is based on the iconic quantum corral experiment, in which single atoms were first positioned on a surface (Crommie, Lutz & Eigler, Science 262, 218–220, 1993) - archaic form meeting modern nanotechnology.
